The Team

Nathaniel ’Natty’ Sobhee
The Team is headed up by Natty, A well known MC and DJ on the UK Hip Hop circuit and Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. Natty has been the director and label manager of Defcon Records for almost 10 years – one of the UK’s first independent Hip-Hop labels. Natty continues to provide voice overs for the worlds biggest radio stations, lectures on the music industry and supports young people all over London and the South east with their creative development. He has also supplied the music to Channel 4’s Gumball Rally, which has hit over 57 countries. Natty, alongside Aina, also fronts 5 piece live band KAYA.

His Skills include: Rapping, Freestyling, Writing, Beat Boxing and Djing.

Aina Westlye
Aina is no stranger to the music scene. She has worked on several different music projects across many different styles, genres and labels from Sony and Universal to Virgin/EMI and many others. She is currently working with various producers as well as producing her own material for her debut album.  She has collaborated with many producers over the years including, JNR J, Keaton (Usual Suspects), Mark Force (Bugz in the Attic) and Danny Wheeler (W10 Recordings) and her debut album features the likes of Omar Abidi (Fightstar) on Drums.

Thomas Yardley
Tom has worked on various different feature films as well as being an all round musician appearing on many different albums. He is a well-respected sound engineer and producer and has recently worked on the most expensive music video of all time. He plays in numerous bands including KAYA where he plays the Bass.

His skills: include Production, Mixing, Mastering and virtually any Musical Instrument, notably the Double Bass.

Tom ‘Tommy B/Mr Basista’ Basista
Tommy is a great asset to the team. Having written, produced, recorded AND released his own album without the help of a record label, this man has a lot of knowledge to impart when working with young people. He is well known for his freestyle and creative lyrical skills and is always experimenting with different genres of music from hip-hop to electro. He also sees the importance in advising young people by passing on the knowledge he has acquired on subjects such as marketing and distribution.

Nur ‘Mr. Milk’ Jamal
Jamal is an experienced rapper and writer who has fronted live bands as well as working on his own personal projects. He is also a well traveled man, originally from Sudan, Mr. Milk has lived and studied in California and the UK. His character is full of life as is his interaction with young people, who thrive off his energy. He is an amazing performer who knows how to capture his audience with effortless freestyles and high energy force. Mr. Milk features all over Fenna Rhodes’ forthcoming album.

Skills include: Rapping, Freestyling and Writing.

Dara “Stealth One”
Dara was one of our students at the first Future Youth project back in 2007. After really impressing all of our staff, his enthusiasm landed him a position in work experience with the Defcon team. This included commuting from Kent to London to work in the office as well as attending workshops as a youth mentor. Dara is still actively involved with defcon but has recently made the decision to commit to doing his A-Levels.

Skills inlcude: Rapping, MCing, DJing

Emily Yardley
Emily is an accomplished vocalist who specialises in acoustic music. She is a woman of many talents who plays a number of instruments including guitar and drums, offering classes in music production.

Skills include: Singing, Production, Musical Instruments and Writing.

Kiran Chahal
Kiran is an incredible artist who is well-experienced in delivering workshops. She is familiar with using unusual and recycled products, stencils and spray paint to create art. Please visit the following link and check out her work for yourself!

Clara Goldsmith
Clara Goldsmith has worked with some of the most interesting artists around, from massive pop stars to revered cult figures- Lily Allen, The Feeling, Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield, Estelle, Kelis, Gang Starr, Air and So Solid Crew, to name but a few.
Her career in the business started with her own music show on a local radio station, followed by a transition into record label marketing, and finally into management. She has seen the nice side, and the not-so-nice side of the music industry, has created over-night stars, witnessed some awesome diva strops, and helped to draw up the template for the changing face of the record business today. Clara has come on board to advise young people on the industry and by giving seminars/lectures at our events.

Ayah Marar
Ayah is an accomplished Singer, Songwriter, DJ and much much more. Hailing from South London, she has worked with young people on an international scale reaching as far as the Middle East.

Skills Include: Singing, Songwriting, MCing, DJing

Hoycke
Hoycke is a German Hip -Hop artist/Rap Sensation.

He is a member of Hip-Hop group Dark Circle who released on ‘Defcon Records’ back in 2000.

His skills include: Rapping, Freestyling.

Wreh-Asha
Wreh-Asha, a qualified songstress from the Midlands, who also works part-time as a Teacher, in a South London Primary School.

Skills incude: Singing, Vocal Tuition, Songwriting.

D.Ablo
He has collaborated with the who’s who of UK Hip Hop, Is a long standing member of the Terra Firma family, and has a voice which is capable of giving you goose pimples and his debut album is dropping this year… I’m off course talking about D.ablo. D.ablo offers lessons in singing, production, musical instruments including the Steel Pan.

Skills Include: Singing, Songwriting, Producing, Piano, Guitar, Steel Pans.

UET  “The Urban Elite Team”
U.E.T is a community based, transparent outfit that has come together in the belief that there is a better way forward for all, and is focused upon spreading this belief throughout local communities alike.
Teaching skills in Streetball/Basketball they have created a service geared towards the youth of today and giving them reasons and motives to succeed in life.

The aim is to work with local communities, councils, boroughs, schools and ethnic minority groups to educate and involve local youth through sport and music whilst instilling life long disciplines within fun and focused environments.

Miguel “Migs” Marques
‘MIGS’ aka ‘MIGUEL MARQUES’ Started mixing House & Garage in 1999.
Went on to promote and DJ at several events in the midlands until leaving Uni in late 2002. He has  played House & Garage, Hip-Hop/RnB, Jungle/Drum & Bass alongside DJ’s such as EZ, Karl ‘Tuff’ Brown, Swing (R.I.P), Shorty Blitz, Swerve, Micky Finn, Nicky Blackmarket and Mampi Swift. In 2003 he returned to London and joined the Konscious  Kollectiv on De Ja 92.3fm, playing House, Garage and Hip-Hop/RnB alongside DJ Liko, MC Illmatika and ViXnTriX.

From 2005-7 Migs returned to the airwaves as ‘Miguel Marques’ or ‘London Brothough of Music’ on London’s Icecold 97.1fm (now 103.fm), hosting and guesting on various shows playing connoisseur Deep, Soulful and Old Skool House classics and Old Skool Hip-Hop and Funk.
